Imaginary Machinescape is a sound ecosystem produced by the dialogue between the situational landscape and the interpretation that a machine makes of the environment. Through a system based on Artificial Intelligence models, this system listens, interprets, and classifies the non-human acoustic signals of the electromagnetic spectrum that an antenna captures.

Based on the interpretations that the machine generates of these signals, the system collects sounds from the freesound.org [freesound.org] repository, relocating and recategorizing the information from the environment, in order to reproduce sounds from other territories and ontologies. Due to the complexity of the signals, the system is unable to give the correct category, generating unexpected results, creating a landscape that speculates on a sound reality created by machines, Imaginary Machininecsape principally bases its concept on asking where the holes, cracks, and gaps are in the artificial intelligence models, searching in those gaps for aesthetic and political strategies that allow us to hack, reappropriate, speculate and redefine the purposes and behaviors of systems based on in machines. This installation is an invitation to explore the space around a multi-channel listening experience, which projects various recreated landscapes based on signals from the radio spectrum and their possible re-interpretations.
