Media: Interactive wearables
The inspiration of this work came from my first emotional reaction towards Seattle: it is very awe. The wearable object is a half wondering sensing tool, and a half defensive apparatus. The object has two pads attached with the two palms of its wearer. When a hand gets too close (about 5cm/2inchs) to things (including people and objects), the pad will get hot and plump out. Therefor, the user is able to sense the closeness between he or she and the others besides the visional perception. Also, the swelling artificial palm prevents the user from grabbing things and being touched by others. There will be always a few centimeters distance between the wearer and the surrounding.
