Jeju Island Artist Collective is pleased to present Smallish: Seattle, the 5th iteration of its ongoing international exhibition dedicated to small-scale works with high ambitions. This edition brings together artists from Korea and the United States, working in drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, technology, and video.
In this show, smallness invites intimate attention. The works are not preparatory or fragmentary; each is complete, yet deliberately contained. Through constrained formats and economical gestures, they focus on a rich range of content, inviting interaction and influence. Situated in Seattle, the exhibition takes on an added inflection. The city’s position as a threshold—between Pacific geographies, economies, and cultural flows—echoes the exhibition’s interest in translation and exchange.
Smallish: Seattle continues the collective’s commitment to artist-driven curation and cross-cultural dialogue, while shifting emphasis toward the specificity of encounter. What emerges is not a survey of small works, but a calibrated field of relations—where scale sharpens perception, and limitation becomes a generative framework.
