DynaCNC Workflow
This guide is here as a reference, but is not a substitute for thorough training. The DynaCNC is not to run without the direct supervision of the shop supervisor.Students may be released from this requirement once they've demonstrated mastery of the machine. Students caught operating the DynaCNC without the oversight of the shop supervision may be banned from usage of the tool.
Machine Setup
1. Connect the 'Axis' parallel port cable (these are usually already connected)
2. Connect the 'Table' parallel port cable (these are usually already connected)
3. Make sure the E-stop button is pressed in (i.e. the machine is in emergency stop mode)
4. Power on the computer
5. Power on the interface box ('DynaCNC' box next to computer. Power switch is on back)
6. Make sure the green axis driver power button is out (i.e. off)
7. Connect the axis driver power cable (ALREADY CONNECTED)
8. Power on the axis driver (green button in). Red light turns on on axis driver box.
9. Start up Mach3 software.
a. Select 'DYNA1000-ROUTER' in the Session Profile popup.
10. Pop the E-stop button out
11. Press the 'Reset' button in Mach3 software - verify there is no red blinking light under the Reset button (it should be gray)
Secure Your Part
1. Make sure the sacrifice is securely clamped to the bed of the DynaCNC
2. Position the stock to be cut so it is square to the DynaCNC bed
3. Screw or securely clamp your stock to the sacrifice
Test and Run
Follow the instructions in the Mach3 wiki article.
Machine Shutdown
1. Turn the router off
2. Jog the gantry away from your part
3. Remove your part and the leftover stock from the sacrifice
4. Vacuum everything up and remove any screws, parts or debris from the work area
5. Push the E-stop button in (i.e. the machine is in emergency stop mode)
6. Pop the green axis driver power button out (i.e. off)
7. Unplug the axis driver power cord
8. Turn off the interface box
9. Disconnect the 'Axis' parallel port cable (optional)
10. Disconnect the 'Table' parallel port cable (optional)
11. Close Mach3
12. Turn off the computer
13. Close up the computer cabinet
14. Coil up all the cables and put them out of the way
