Dr. Edward Shanken, visiting Associate Professor at DXARTS presents new thoughts on art, culture, and social media at the Whitney Museum of American Art in NYC, January 15, 2014. He will be one of three featured speakers, along with Dr. Jonathan Crary, Meyer Shapiro Professor of Art History at Columbia University and Donna De Salvo, Chief Curator at the Whitney. The Shared Spaces symposium is organized by Christiane Paul and Gordon Hall.

In preparation for the talk, Shanken used Facebook as a forum to generate responses to the provocations posed by the symposium organizers. These responses serve as source material for his presentation. He has posted his talk as a .pptx file here: http://tiny.cc/Bringing_To_Bringing_Out
