Located in McMahon Hall, the DXARTS Fab Lab is a facility with a variety of resources and uses. The lab includes a wood shop, metal shop, electronics lab, CAD workstations, 3D printers and laser cutters, as well as a classroom and workspaces for graduate students.

The lab provides advanced computer aided design, manufacturing and prototyping machines as well as traditional power tools and hand tools. Workspaces are limited and available on a quarter-by-quarter basis to graduate students. Usage must be project-based and applications must be submitted each quarter to be considered for space. The lab's classroom space is where the Mechatronics sequence of classes (DXARTS 470, 471, and 472) are taught. This portion of the lab is a shared workspace when classes are not being held.

Anyone interested in using the equipment at McMahon must first complete our user agreement. This training is to ensure that you can use the lab space safely.

Please note: The user agreement and safety training must be completed annually.
