Wei Yang’s ambisonic work ní nán was performed in Tonmeistertagung in Düsseldorf on November 9th, 2023, and was awarded the Gold Prize in the Contemporary/Computer Music category at the Student 3D Audio Production Competition. At its seventh edition, this year’s competition was jointly organized by Verband Deutscher Tonmeister (Association of German Tonmeisters), IEM Graz (Institut für Electronische Musik and Akustik) and ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) Musikprotokoll.
The competition called for 5th order ambisonic submissions for three categories - Contemporary/Computer Music, Audio Drama/Documentary/Soundscapes, Music Recording/Studio Production.
