MUSICA POLONICA NOVA - Festival of Polish Contemporary Music
Ewa Trębacz, DXARTS Alumna and Research Scientist, was a composer-in-residence at this year’s edition of the Musica Polonica Nova festival in Wrocław, Poland. The festival was held at the state-of-the-art concert venue National Forum of Music, and features a kaleidoscope of works composed by Polish artists in recent years.
Ewa Trebacz’s violin concerto with Ambisonic sound Metanoia was commissioned by the National Forum of Music, and was featured in the final concert of the festival on May 29th, 2022. Besides Metanoia, the festival included two earlier works by Ewa Trębacz - Ligeia for invisible soprano, ensemble and surround sound, and Minotaur for horn and surround sound, as well as selections of Ambisonic recordings realized by Ewa Trębacz in the famous Dan Harpole Cistern, Fort Worden, Washington State.
