There is only one sky—but the ways we see and interpret it are infinite. Maja Petrić expresses this infinity using machine learning, big data, and algorithms as artistic
tools. Her computer-generated visualizations capture the essence of how we view the sky, depending on where we live and when we look up. For example, Lost Skies, two
large-scale lightboxes depict contrasting views of the polluted sky, one based on scientific data and the other illustrating the perspective of a climate change skeptic. All the data that drive her work in the show will be updated daily.
