NOTE: there is an error in the Class Catalog indicating that DXARTS 463 is a prerequisite for this class. Students who have taken DXARTS 461 and 462 are elegible to take the class. Also students who have taken DXARTS 461 in the Winter quarter and are planning to take 462 in the Spring could opt to take DXARTS 567 concurrently, they would need permission from the instructor in this case, pease contact Juan Pampin (pampin@uw.edu).

Catalog Description: 
Theory and practice of spatial sound. Spatial hearing mechanisms. Stereo microphone techniques. 3D sound field capture and reconstruction using first and high order ambisonics. VBAP, WFS, and other advanced sound spatialization techniques. Introduction to aural architecture and spatial audio composition with emphasis on the production of experimental sound pieces and installations. Prerequisite: DXARTS 463.
