Documentary filmmaking focusing on the performance of Harry Partch’s  King Oedipus with Nathan Kwame Braun.

Students will learn the basics of videography, sound recording, and editing, using these skills in small teams to produce short documentaries focusing on individual musicians and the challenge of mastering rare and distinctive instruments Harry Partch built. Students need to be on hand for rehearsals and performances that will take place outside of the normal classroom setting and time.

Catalog Description: 
Intensive, large-scale, collaborative, experimental media-based art projects. Examples include major interactive art installations, cinematic works, live computer music performances, and mechatronic or telematic collaborations. Topic vary.
